Turkey Picadillo

Since 1975, Sergio’s in Miami has been the definitive home of Cuban American comfort food – built by three generations of women who cooked from memory and heart. Their Turkey Picadillo features lean ground turkey simmered in sofrito with sweet peppers, tomato, and a hint of olive, served alongside slow-cooked black beans and caramelized maduros. From the La Flaca menu, it’s the same Cuban soul the restaurant was built on, lightened for the way we eat today – none of the flavor lost.

• Turkey Picadillo (2.5 lbs.) – Lean ground turkey in sofrito
• Slow Cooked Black Beans (4 lbs.)
• Maduros (2.5 lbs.) – Sweet fried plantains

INSTRUCTIONS / STORAGE

• Sergios Cuban American Kitchen ships Tuesday through Thursday each week
• Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes
• Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight

• Items ship frozen with ice packs, may thaw in transit.
• If items arrive partially thawed but are still cool to the touch, that’s normal for frozen shipping; simply freeze or refrigerate right away.
• Upon arrival, place all items in the freezer until ready to prepare.
• For best quality and safety, keep frozen for up to 1 month.

To Serve

Protein & Beans

• Place product from freezer to refrigerator 24 hours before use to begin thawing.
• Bring water to a boil over medium-high to high heat.
• Place sealed bag in water until product reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (about 30 minutes).
• Remove bag carefully, confirm temperature is 165°F, and serve.

Maduros

• Place product from freezer to refrigerator 24 hours before use to begin thawing.
• Heat oil in a fry pot at 300°F.
• Fry maduros for about 2 minutes per side, until caramelized in color.
• Remove carefully, drain excess oil on a napkin or strainer, and serve.
