What’s better than a taste of Shotwell’s most coveted caramel flavors all in one shot! Jerrod Smith, owner of this charming Tennessee confectionery, handcrafts small batches of caramels that Southern Living Magazine recently named one of the best Southern-made sweets.

Jerrod Smith is something of a superman. Corporate lawyer by day, confectioner by night, and dad by both, Shotwell Candy’s founder and head confectioner turns out some of the creamiest and most delightful caramels we’ve ever had the pleasure to chew. These small-batch, buttery soft caramels were inspired by Smith’s great-grandfather, “Grandpa Shot,” who owned a general goods store that the family would sneak bites of candy from. From this treasured family memory, Shotwell Candy was founded in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2012 to offer the timeless flavors found only in the most carefully crafted, highest quality sweets.

Flavor Options Includes

• Original Salted – This buttery soft caramel is infused with house-made Tennessee whiskey, vanilla extract, a splash of Kentucky bourbon, and finished with flaky Celtic grey salt.
• Bourbon Maple Pecan – Shotwell’s combined their handcrafted caramels with barrel-aged bourbon, a splash of pure maple syrup, roasted fresh pecans and finished it off with a light sprinkling of crunchy sea salt.
• Craft Beer & Pretzel – Other than glorious caramels, beer is one of Shotwell Candy’s great passions. Especially some of the locally made versions available in Memphis TN. Shotwell Candy combines their soft caramel with a healthy dose of Ghost River Brewing’s Golden Ale and finish it off with nice sized chunks of hand-crushed salty pretzels.
• Lemon Poundcake – One of Shotwell Candy’s favorite spring and summer desserts is Lemon Poundcake. The slightly tart frosting and sweet cake make for a refreshing treat. With these Lemon Poundcake Caramels, they’ve developed their version of the classic treat by combining soft caramel, pure lemon oil, the buttery flavor of a classic poundcake, and a touch of crunchy sea salt.
• Hand Crushed Espresso – Like that perfect cup of coffee on a cold morning, these Shotwell espresso caramels are something special. Shotwell’s caramels are buttery soft caramel infused with espresso beans, house-made Tennessee whiskey, vanilla extract, and almond extract, finished with a sprinkling of hand-crushed espresso beans. The coffee beans are 100% Costa Rican Tarrazu that have been masterfully roasted to a full city roast by Memphis-based coffee roasters, J. Brooks. With a citrus flavor that is often sweet and vibrant, they make a perfect complement to these caramels.
• Old Fashion Cocktail – Shotwell’s play on the classic “Old Fashioned” cocktail: buttery soft caramel infused with aromatic bitters, Kentucky bourbon, and orange extract. The combination makes for a smooth caramel filled with the sweet nuttiness of bourbon, a touch of spice from aromatic bitters, and hints of orange from the orange extract. The only thing missing is the coupe glass!

INSTRUCTIONS / STORAGE

• Caramels ship Monday-Wednesday of each week.
• Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes.
• Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight Shipping. Sorry guys!

• Caramels are best when fresh and should be consumed within 3-4 weeks of delivery.
• If you’re able to keep from eating the whole box after opening, we recommend storing your caramels in an air-tight container to maintain freshness.
