The Rhode Island pizza strip is one of the Ocean State’s most beloved and least-exported culinary traditions: thick-crust focaccia-style dough topped with a bright, herb-infused tomato sauce – no cheese, served at room temperature, cut into strips and layered in a box. D. Palmieri’s Bakery in Johnston, Rhode Island traces its roots to 1905, when Italian immigrant Domenico Palmieri opened the shop in Providence and was among the first to sell the pizza strip commercially; the fifth-generation family bakery has been making the same closely guarded sauce recipe ever since. A Rhode Island institution for over a century – half a sheet pan, 24 pieces.

This package includes your choice of pizza cut into portions
- Half Sheet serves 4-6 people and includes a half sheet of pizza cut into four portions (the equivalent of 24 small party pizza strips)
- Full Sheet serves 8-12 people and includes a full sheet of pizza strips cut into 8 portions (the equivalent of 48 small party pizza strips)
INSTRUCTIONS / STORAGE
- D. Palmieri’s Bakery ships Wednesday of each week.
- Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes.
- Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight Shipping. Sorry guys!
- Pizza Strips ship par-baked and frozen with ice packs
- Portions should be mostly or partially thawed upon arrival
- If storing for later use, place the wrapped portions directly into the freezer
This product can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 6 months.
To Serve
- Unwrap portion and set out until it reaches room temperature
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- Place fully thawed portion on a lightly oiled baking sheet and place in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until bottom is golden brown
- Remove from oven and allow to cool to room temperature for the classic pizza strip experience, or enjoy it hot right out of the oven
