Apple Crumb Pie

Along I-17 in Black Canyon City, halfway between Phoenix and Prescott, Rock Springs Cafe has been pulling travelers off the highway since 1918 – and the apple pie is the reason most of them come back. A full thirty-pound box of apples goes into every batch, hand-packed with a peak in the middle so every slice stacks high with fruit, folded into a cinnamon-and-nutmeg filling and finished under a buttery, golden crumb. This is the pie that built the reputation, baked in-house with no artificial preservatives, the definitive taste of Arizona history.

INSTRUCTIONS / STORAGE

• Rock Springs Cafe ships Monday through Wednesday each week
• Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes
• Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight

• Pie ships frozen with ice packs, may thaw in transit.
• Upon arrival, store at room temperature for up to 2 days, in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

To Serve

• For best results, bring to room temperature.
• Remove from packaging and allow pie to rest at room temperature for 1-2 hours before serving.

Warmed

• Preheat oven to 325°F.
• Remove pie from packaging and place on a baking sheet.
• Heat for 12-15 minutes or until warmed through.
• Allow to cool slightly before slicing.

Do not microwave.
