From a third-generation New York Deli owner, Kenny & Ziggy’s is not only the top deli in Texas but also one of the best delis in America. In the early 1900s, Max Gruber (Ziggy’s grandfather) left Budapest, Hungary, on a bicycle. He pedaled his way across Europe to the Atlantic coast and eventually sailed for the United States, ending up on New York’s Lower East Side. In 1927, he and his brothers-in-law Morris and Izzy Rappaport opened the first Jewish deli on Broadway! Generations later, Houston businessman Lenny Friedman convinced Ziggy Gruber, who ran successful Jewish delis in New York and Los Angeles, that Houston needed an authentic deli of its own. INSTRUCTIONS / STORAGE

• Kenny & Ziggy’s ships Monday-Thursday of each week
• Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes
• Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight Shipping. Sorry guys!

• Ships fresh with ice packs, may thaw in transit
• Bread may be kept at room temperature for up to 4 days. Do not refrigerate.
• Mustard may be kept at room temperature, but once opened, it must be kept refrigerated.
• Russian dressing may be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
• Sauerkraut may be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
• Meat and cheese may be stored in the refrigerator for up to 6 days.
• Bread and meat may be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.

To Serve

Boil Method

• If frozen, allow the meat to defrost in the refrigerator overnight before serving.
• Boil a pot of water on the stove.
• Place meat in a colander and place it inside the pot. The meat should not touch the water.
• Place a lid over the top of the colander and steam the meat on the stove for 1 minute or until hot.
• Assemble, serve and enjoy!

Microwave Method

• If frozen, allow the meat to defrost in the refrigerator overnight before serving.
• Take a plate and two paper towels, wet the paper towels and wring it out until damp.
• Place the meat flat between the two damp paper towels and wrap with plastic wrap, and microwave for 25 – 40 seconds. Do the lowest time to avoid frying the meat.
• Assemble, serve and enjoy!

Bread

• If frozen, allow bread to thaw at room temperature.
• Brush softened butter or margarine on one side of the rye bread and place the butter side down in a heated pan.
• Add a slice of Swiss cheese on each half, then add the sauerkraut to both sides.
• When the bread is nice and golden brown, place both sides on the counter, and place the meat on one of the halves.
• Add Russian Dressing on top and add the other bread half.
• Cut the sandwich in half and enjoy!
