Lobster Bake for 4

A Maine lobster bake for four from the working wharf on Spruce Head Island: fresh McLoons lobsters, littleneck clams, Maine seaweed, sea salt butter, lemon, and red potatoes – everything except the stockpot. Sea salt brownies included for dessert. From the family-owned shack Yankee Magazine named home of the best lobster roll in the state; the bake is what the lobstermen do on their own nights off.

INSTRUCTIONS / STORAGE

• McLoons Lobster Shack ships Monday-Friday of each week
• Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes
• Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight Shipping. Sorry guys!

• Mcloons’ lobsters are shipped with ice packs, which may thaw partially or fully during transit
• Lobsters and clams should be cooked on the day they are received, but can be stored in the fridge overnight in necessary, covered in seaweed.
• Brownies are best enjoyed on the day of arrival, but can be kept on the counter for up to 2 days.

To Serve

• Fill a large stock pot with 2″ of water in the bottom
• Add the sea salt and &#189 of the seaweed
• Cut the potatoes into &#188’s and place inside cheesecloth
• Bring the water to a boil over high heat, and then reduce to medium high heat.
• Add the potatoes, cover the pot and cook for 10 minutes
• Remove the rubber bands from the lobsters, and add with remaining seaweed
• Cover and continue cooking for additional 10 minutes
• Add clams and continue cooking for additional 5-10 minutes or until the clams have opened and the lobsters appear bright red.
• The antennae should pull away from the body easily.
• Remove contents (tongs work best) and plate as desired. Serve with lemon and melted butter!”
