The Bronx’s last kosher deli sandwich, built to order at home: Liebman’s signature pastrami or corned beef – house-cured by Yuval Dekel, who has personally perfected the process since taking over the Riverdale institution in 2002 – on rye with the fixings. The deli Joe Liebman opened in 1953 outlasted the other 100-plus kosher Jewish delis that once operated in the borough; the sandwich is the reason the regulars kept coming back through every neighborhood change that claimed the others.

INSTRUCTIONS / STORAGE

• Liebman’s Deli ships Monday through Friday of each week
• Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes
• Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight Shipping. Sorry guys!

• Sandwich kit is shipped with ice packs which may thaw partially or fully during transit
• Meat is made to order and flash frozen for shipping
• Upon arrival, place the meat, pickles and mustard in the refrigerator. To serve later, place the meat and bread in the freezer
• Allow meat to thaw in the refrigerator for a few hours or on a countertop before serving
• To serve, follow the instructions below

To Serve

• Remove desired amount and place on microwave-safe dish. Microwave for 10 to 15 seconds until completely heated through.
• Also try tightly wrapping desired amount in plastic wrap and gently steam until hot and tender.
