When Barney Greengrass first opened his smoked fish (“appetizing”) store in Harlem in 1908, his mission was simple: to create a “food store for those who demand the best.” In 1929 Barney moved his much-beloved shop to its present home on the Upper West Side. His customers followed, his popularity grew, and soon all of New York knew him as “The Sturgeon King.” Two generations later, Barney Greengrass continues to cater to “those who demand the best,” under the meticulous guidance of Barney’s grandson, Gary. In addition to looking much the same as it did back in Barney’s day, the iconic shop and restaurant has become a one-of-a-kind destination for smoked fish and deli lovers from across the globe. The Greengrass family’s commitment to serving the finest classic New York fare has earned Barney Greengrass countless accolades, including an American Classic Award from the James Beard Foundation in 2006.

• Barney Greengrass ships Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday of each week.
• Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes.
• Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight Shipping. Sorry guys!

• Package ships with ice packs, may thaw in transit.
• Eastern Nova Scotia may be refrigerated for up to 7 days, or frozen for up to 30 days.
• Sturgeon may be refrigerated for up to 5 days.
• Pastrami may be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
• Mustard may be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
• Cream cheese may be stored in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
• Rye Bread may be stored at room temperature for 3-5 days.
• Bagels may be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days or sliced in half and stored in the freezer for up to 1 month.
• Cookies may be stored at room temperature for 5-7 days.
