Build your own spread from the Liebman’s appetizer and sides menu – chopped liver, matzo ball soup, stuffed cabbage, kasha varnishkes, kugel, kishka with gravy, and more – from the last kosher deli in the Bronx. Joe Liebman opened on West 235th Street in Riverdale in 1953, one of over 100 Jewish delis in the borough; Yuval Dekel has kept every dish on the menu unchanged since taking over in 2002. Anthony Bourdain came to Parts Unknown in 2014; this is the spread that has kept the Riverdale regulars coming in for over 70 years.

INSTRUCTIONS / STORAGE

• Liebman’s Deli ships Monday through Friday of each week
• Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes
• Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight Shipping. Sorry guys!

• Appetizers are shipped with ice packs which may thaw partially or fully during transit
• Frozen items can be stored in freezer for several weeks. Fresh items can be stored in refrigerator for several days.

To Serve

Stuffed Cabbage

• Place stuffed cabbage rolls in a pot and cover with sweet and sour raisin gravy.
• Heat on low occasional stirring until internal temperature of roll reaches 140°F

Matzah Ball Soup

• Place thawed soup in a microwave safe bowl and heat on high for 3 to 4 minutes. Soup can also be warmed in a pot over a stove.

Stuffed Cabbage

• Place stuffed cabbage rolls in a pot and cover with sweet and sour raisin gravy.
• Heat on low occasional stirring until internal temperature of roll reaches 140°F.

Kugels

• Preheat oven to 325F and place kugels uncovered on a rack in the aluminum tin and heat thoroughly for approx. 10-14 min.

Kishka (Derma) Stovetop

• Remove casing prior to using heating instructions.
• Sear Kishka in a nonstick pan over medium heat along with 1 tablespoon vegetable oil.

Kishka (Derma) – Steam

• Remove casing prior to using heating instructions.
• Cut Kishka into approximately 2 inch discs in steam until soft and internal temperature reaches 160°F.

Kishka (Derma) – Microwave

• Remove casing prior to using heating instructions and cut Kishka into approximately 2″ discs.
• Microwave on high for approximately 2 min.

Kasha Varnishkas

• Place kasha varnishkas in a microwave safe bowl and heat on high for 2 minutes.
• Stir and heat again for an additional 1 minute.
